Course Description

In this course, you will develop the skills needed to use the Internet safely and develop an understanding of good practice in the management of data and information. You will also gain an understanding of the critical importance of cyber security and how good cyber security practices can help to protect organizations and individuals from cyber attacks.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the key security concepts relevant to internet use
  • Identify and learn how to prevent malware attacks
  • Implement good practices in network security
  • Control who has access to networks
  • Store data securely

Who can take this course?

This course is available to all adults over the age of 18 resident in the Republic of Ireland.

What's the exam like for this course?

Exams are taken online and are 45 minutes in duration. There are 32-39 questions with a pass mark of 75%.

Do I need specific hardware or software?

You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11) or MacOS (the most recent version is Sonoma). 

No specific software is required for this course.
